Welcome to my personal website, I'm Javier Borquez a PhD candidate at University of Southern California ECE Department and part of the wonderful research group SIA LAB.

In this website you'll find some information about me, my academic research projects and some personal just-for-fun projects.

My Background / About Me

I got my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, then joined the SIA Lab in the Fall of 2021 as a PhD student; My current research interests lay in the designing and deployment of robots that leverage safety techniques to closely interact with humans.

In my free time I like to practice Taekwon-do, volunteer helping cats and building stuff out of discarded electronics.
